Elizabeth Gillis, former senior center director
Our trails are special because they allow a lot of multi use, whether that be bikes or walkers or hikers or beach goers.
Mars Charlebois, Crested Butte Land Trust recreation lands coordinator.

Britney Kuehm, Crested Butte Mountain Theatre artistic director
Community-Identified Recreation Needs
In 2025, MetRec published the Regional Recreation Master Plan—a community-led roadmap guiding recreation investment and collaboration across the district for the next 5–10 years. The plan builds on a 2023 Recreation Survey and is based on public conversations, work sessions, surveys, and meetings.
